I can't WAIT for Killers of the Flower Moon. My friend Lily Gladstone has the lead role and all the whiffs of award season and I am so happy. I've known her for years and she has just stayed true to her craft and I love to see her perched on the edge of some true recognition. I've been meaning to write about this since I saw the first trailer on the big screen at some other movie. It is truly, truly thrilling. Miigwech for mentioning it!

I can't wait either!!! Lily looks INCREDIBLE in it, just thinking about her performance gives me chills!!!! She better get the OSCAR nom.

Please do write about it, the more people see this film, the better. ❤️

Your “undying belief in the power of possibility” is solar! I can feel her warmth all the way over here.

And what’s caught in my web? I’m utterly absorbed and transformed by Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. Such a memorable account of the possibility (there’s that word again) of humans and mother earth living in harmony.

Embracing you all the way from my neck of the woods 💕

Adding her book to my list! She is from the tribe of my half siblings, the Potawatomi.

Oh!!!! Well all the more reason to read it. I've already decided that when I finish, I'm going to circle back to page 1 and read it out loud to my husband. (Sometimes books are so good they need to be burned into my brain this way.) Then, I'll begin The Lovers. ;)

Some fascinating finds! I had a random thought in the morning about toast and coffee, and remember a vague story about someone promoting the "story" about his business, by showing up somewhere on a regular basis, ordering only coffee and toast, promoting what he did by wearing a unique grey suit. That was Thom Browne, and now, here's a story about how that story spread out from "niche" to mainstream.

Serendipity! I love when that happens.

Goddamnit, Jenovia, how do you write like that!? Sorry for the blasphemy, but it’s just so freaking beautiful.

I absolutely loved these two bits:

“It’s crucial to find out what we’re made of. To know if we have what it takes to heed the call of our heart’s aching desire.”

“You’ll never look into my eyes and see the regret of abandoned dreams and desires.”

Thoreau’s famous line — about ‘leading lives of quiet desperation’ — can eat its heart out after that second one.

Thanks Jenovia
